At the Rainbow Bridge
This year has been a very sad one as far as losing loved ones. Being a dog lover myself, I consider the death of a dog just as devastating as the death of a friend. Dogs are our friends too. I work at a kennel that is attached to an animal hospital and we get a lot of regulars who board with us. This year we already have lost quite a few favorites. The dog I chose to represent in this picture was one that was particularly saddening. She was a yellow labrador named Keeley and she left us so quickly and suddenly, nobody had the chance to say goodbye. She boarded with us almost every day. Rest in peace. We miss you. Prismacolors on black paper. I smudged it a bit and add a light source using Corel Painter Essentials 2. (rather badly I have to add >.< ) |

I really know how it is to lose one....
Wonderful work, NutMeg.
My Dog is dying. She's haveing real trouble walking, her back legs are giving out so badly. Its so devistating to see her just go outside and not be able to play anymore. Its so sad to see her try and follow me up the stairs to sleep with me. I hate losing animals. Its the sadest thing in the world. But you know what? Shes givin me the best years of my life with her. ^_^ I couldn't ask for anyting else.

Aye, Bandit and myself say that when we loose one of our dogs (she has two, I have my four) it will be like loosing a parent or a sibling. ;-; Thank goodness I haven't lost one of mine yet. (I only had pet cats, lizards, and fish die before. Still heartbreaking.)
